With the help of Alaska Native Sisterhood (ANS)-Camp 70, THRHA was able to host a successful donation campaign for the Glory Hole’s Thanksgiving. Baskets. Every year, the Glory Hole distributes Thanksgiving baskets to those in need, and this year they anticipated providing baskets for 150-200 families. THRHA decided to participate by hosting a “Fill the Van” campaign focused on gathering enough items to fill up a van. With assistance from community members, staff, and a generous donation from ANS-Camp 70 we were able to deliver about half a van full of potatoes, yams, milk, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin, pecan pies, apples, oranges, green beans, corn, rolls, 19 turkeys, 1 ham and other miscellaneous food items. The Glory Hole was very happy about the contribution to the Thanksgiving baskets, and even though we didn’t fill a full van, we set the bar to beat for next year.
Thank you again to everyone that donated! We wish you a happy and safe Thanksgiving Holiday.
