THRHA offers a variety of housing services, senior independent living, and project and home construction. The authority also provides renting, homeownership and rent-to-own opportunities. In addition, THRHA owns and operates Fireweed Place, which is a 67-unit apartment building for senior citizens who can live independently. The authority administers the Rural Owner Occupied Loan Program, which provides financing to construct, purchase or renovate owner-occupied single-family residences and duplexes. Over this past seven years, Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority has provided home loan assistance in the area of $8.5 Million to over 70 Alaska Native and American Indian first-time homebuyers.
